I loved my visit to Monterey, California for Andy & Kara’s wedding. It was such a switch from my arid, hot Arizona in the middle of July. Every morning I was greeted by the sound of sea gulls flying over head and we stayed close enough to the ocean that we could even hear sea lions barking. There was a thick fog every morning that burned off around lunch time and returned in time for dinner. I really enjoyed the humdity that came with the fog but it instantly transfomed my hair into something resembling a puff ball. I won’t be sharing pics of that but I did want to share some pics of the things that caught my eye in beautiful Monterey.
First up, flowers grow very well there
I caught this busy bee early one morning
At the beach, notice the fog
Starfish, I’d only seen star fish in aquariums prior to this
a little gift from the sea
We were only about a football field’s length from Fishermans Wharf.
It wasn’t as big as Fishermans Wharf in San Francisco but it was still lively and fun. One of things I liked best was the Navy ship not far away
The houseboat captured my eye
Couldn’t resist this little pup, I felt a kinship with him, we were sportin’ very similar hairstyles.
There was a man named George who had his beautiful exotic birds set up for people to hold for a small fee
I don’t think it was ever in this crab’s plans to wear a lemon crown
