Monterey, California : Travel

I loved my visit to Monterey, California for Andy & Kara’s wedding.  It was such a switch from my arid, hot Arizona in the middle of July.  Every morning I was greeted by the sound of sea gulls flying over head and we stayed close enough to the ocean that we could even hear sea lions barking.  There was a thick fog every morning that burned off around lunch time and returned in time for dinner.  I really enjoyed the humdity that came with the fog but it instantly transfomed my hair into something resembling a puff ball.  I won’t be sharing pics of that but I did want to share some pics of the things that caught my eye in beautiful Monterey.

First up, flowers grow very well there

We were only about a football field’s length from Fishermans Wharf. :)  It wasn’t as big as Fishermans Wharf in San Francisco but it was still lively and fun.  One of things I liked best was the Navy ship not far away

Couldn’t resist this little pup, I felt a kinship with him, we were sportin’ very similar hairstyles. :)

There was a man named George who had his beautiful exotic birds set up for people to hold for a small fee

Andy & Kara, Married Pt. 2 : Destination Wedding Photography

Finally, part 2.  My apologies for the dry spell here on the blog.  I had to take a planned break for medical reasons but I am fully recovered and grateful to be back at work.  Enough of that let’s talk weddings! :)

If you read Part 1 of Andy & Kara’s wedding you know that I was invited to second shoot this wedding in Monterey, California with Lindsey Ross.  Andy & Kara’s wedding day was fabulous from start to finish.  First some getting ready shots.

The day wouldn’t have been complete without Ms. Mabel, Andy and Kara’s cherished pup and rumored to be the reason they are together.

Andy & Kara, Married Pt. 1: Destination Wedding Photography

Recently I had the opportunity to second-shoot a wedding for Lindsey Ross in Monetery, California.  I can’t say enough what a treat that was for me to visit and shoot in a location out of the desert.  Don’t get me wrong I love the desert but shooting on the beach was really fun!  The night before the wedding the bride and groom hosted a dinner on the beach.  Normally I wouldn’t devote a blog post to rehearsal activities but, hey, it was on the beach!  Lindsey and I took a hike before the party got started, here’s the view from up high.
