Robert and I are in Las Vegas so he can shoot the NASCAR races this weekend. He’s dealing with start and stop rain which means start and stop racing…meanwhile I have been filling my days with shopping and sight-seeing. Thought I would share some of my adventure through pics…
First the Dale Chihuly sculpture in the lobby of the Belagio. I first learned of the sculpture watching the last season of Top Chef, one of the chef’s challenged herself to prepare a dish that represented the sculpture…she failed miserably…once I saw the sculpture in person I knew why…it’s really breathtaking and would be hard to interpret with food.

Here’s my taxi driver, he was from Yugoslavia. I really enjoyed talking to him and hearing about his life, he was nice enough to let me take his picture.

The NASCAR Nation is in full force here this weekend, you can’t look anywhere without seeing someone displaying NASCAR driver love.

I visited the Shark Reef Aquarium at the Mandalay Bay. I’m not sure why the komodo dragon is in an aquarium exhibit but he was interesting and a good poser.

Shooting through the thick glass was a challenge but I managed to pull off some decent stuff of the lion fish…they were my favorite of all the sea life.

I’m including the next image even though it really stinks technically just to prove that there are indeed sharks in the Shark Reef Aquarium, don’t judge
it was a nightmare to try to capture the sharks.

Finally, I was hoping that at some point I would see a bride while in Vegas…I turned a corner and there was a bride! I just had to capture the scene, loved the reflection on the tile.

Thanks for visiting!
