Allan & Rebekah, Married : Sierra Vista Wedding Photographer

WARNING: This is a long post. :)  In my last “Sneak Peek” I shared some of Allan and Rebekah’s ring shots.  Their Wedding was on Saturday and it was a total pleasure to shoot.  The day started early at the Beauty Salon…check out the reflection of the McDonald’s cup in the mirror…a big diamond ring graphic!  I thought that was too coincidental to not get some shots of it.

After the salon it was time for makeup, compliments of one of the Groom’s daughters.

Here are some of the Bride’s details:

While the girls were getting ready the Groom and his sons patiently waited and visited with friends and family.  Allan’s sister flew in for the wedding and made all of the flower arrangements for the wedding.  In the bottom shot she is adjusting his boutonniere.

Back to the girls:)

Did I mention there was more than one bride?  Well, not LITERALLY!  Only one was getting married.  Rebekah and her friends cooked up the idea to have her friends wear their wedding dresses to the ceremony.  I love my brides and I love shooting them so it was extra fun having the “spares” there. :)

Don’t stop counting yet…there are more:)

Yes, count them five brides.

This is one of my many faves from the day.  Rebekah was getting emotional so one of her friends told her to look up to stop the tears from flowing.

Crisis diverted…she’s ready to walk down the aisle.

The look of surprise when Allan saw the “spare brides” walking towards him.  (He didn’t know what Rebekah and her friends had cooked up)  He took it all in stride and with good humor.:)

Rebekah threw her bouquet from the balcony.  The lucky girl is planning her 2009 wedding.

Party time!  My friends at For the Love of Food prepared the food.

The day wound down in casual clothes with music and dancing.

Thank you Allan and Rebekah for letting us share in your day.  It was a joy to experience the love that your friends and family have for the two of you and that you have for each other!

AUNT SYLVIA IN OHIO - November 20, 2008 - 8:18 am

HEY BECKY AND ALAN!

SO GLAD YOU TWO FOUND EACH OTHER–FROM AN OLD POEM ELIZABETH D. PARSONS–YOUR GRANDMOTHER LOVED:HERE IS AS MUCH AS I REMEMBER: “TWO CAN BE BORN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD APART, ESCAPING WRECK, DEFYING DEATH AND ALL UNCONSCIOUSLY FORM EVERY ACT THAT ONE DAY OUT OF DARKNESS TWO SHALL MEET AND READ LIFE’S MEANING–IN EACH OTHERS’ EYES. AND TWO SHALL BE BORN SO NEARLY SIDE BY SIDE THAT SHOULD EITHER TURN TO RIGHT OR LEFT, THEY STAND ACKNOWLEDGED FACE TO FACE, BUT WITH GROPING HANDS THAT NEVER MEET, THEY DIE UNSATISFIED AND THIS IS FATE. GOD BROUGHT YOU TWO TOGETHER–AND ALAN: THE BIBLE SAYS: A GOOD WIFE IS A PRESENT FROM THE LORD–DON’T EITHER OF YOU FORGET HIM. LOVE, AUNT SYLVIA

Maria you captured the emotions of this day beautifully! And what a unique idea with the bridesmaids dressed as brides!

Robert - October 28, 2008 - 2:19 am

Maria sweetheart, you nailed this one. I am so very proud of you! Your comps, technics and use of natural light are great. My favs are the Mom and Bride for sure but I really like the spontaneous capture when he saw… the bride(s). Also, the flying flowers, see i told you shooting fast racecars would pay off someday.

Babe…. congrats.. you’re doing a fantastic job.

Andy - October 27, 2008 - 8:50 pm

Nice work. The more I see of the TR actions, the more I want to invest.

Cheryl - October 27, 2008 - 4:24 pm

Absolutely stunning – I agree with Ang, you have a knack for capturing the true emotions of the day – way to rock girl.

ang - October 27, 2008 - 4:12 pm

How fun! You do so well at capturing the details and those special tender moments. It looks like that was a fun wedding. I was lost at all the brides but thankfully your writings caught me up! Too funny. Your ring shot macros are AMAZING girl!

I like to call things in my life that happen unexpectedly and turn into something wonderful “happy accidents”. I’ve had many happy accidents, meeting my husband, forgetting an ingredient in a recipe and discovering it tasted better without the ingredient, etc... Photography was another “happy accident". A friend needed someone to help shoot auto races, my husband volunteered me and bought me my first Digital SLR camera. Five years have passed since those first nights standing on a wall and trying my best to capture cars traveling 120 mph heading directly at me. It didn’t take me long before I wanted to learn how to operate the camera without guidance. My journey began and still continues. read more
