Back Home and Grateful

We arrived home last night from our trip to Las Vegas for my Dad’s funeral.   The approx. 8 hour drive was flawless both ways.  I love getting out on the road and seeing new things and different landscapes.  We spent a couple of extras days there doing “tourist stuff”, stay tuned over the next few days for some Las Vegas sites.  I can’t wait to share some of the images!

While we were gone our main website crashed:(  I apologize for trouble our clients had.  Tech Support is working on the problem as I type and hopefully the website will be back online soon.

My step-mom, Susan, asked Robert and I if we would take some pictures for her before the service.  I must confess using my camera was a like a refuge for me, familiar and comfortable in unchartered territory…until I saw the Military Honor Guard.  Seeing the uniform that my Dad was so proud to wear on soldiers who were there to honor my Dad was at once sad and a caused my heart to soar with pride.

When it was time for the service and my camera went back in its bag Robert was my refuge holding my hand and sharing his strength with me as he has for so many years through good times and bad.  I can always count on him. :)

Thank you Babe!

Finally I offer big THANK YOU ((((HUGS))) to everyone that emailed, wrote cards and left comments on my blog offering love and support for me and my family.  I am overwhelmed and so grateful that I have such precious people in my life who would take the time to reach out and share words and encouragement that blessed me and truly helped me.  My love and gratitude to you all!

I know exactly what you meant about the military honors, they are so very touching. I’m glad you have the rock that you do during this sad time. Your phots were magnificent and capture the moment…as always.

I like to call things in my life that happen unexpectedly and turn into something wonderful “happy accidents”. I’ve had many happy accidents, meeting my husband, forgetting an ingredient in a recipe and discovering it tasted better without the ingredient, etc... Photography was another “happy accident". A friend needed someone to help shoot auto races, my husband volunteered me and bought me my first Digital SLR camera. Five years have passed since those first nights standing on a wall and trying my best to capture cars traveling 120 mph heading directly at me. It didn’t take me long before I wanted to learn how to operate the camera without guidance. My journey began and still continues. read more
