Joseph and Kate: Southern Arizona Engagement Photographer

Meet Joseph and Kate.  They were introduced by mutual friends and had their first “date” at an IHOP.  Joseph has a great sense of humor and told me it wasn’t “love at first sight” because he was concentrating on the pancakes. ;)

Kate is super sweet as I think you will be able to see in the pics.  They really adore each other and are very easy-going.

I could have titled this the “Gilligan’s Island” post because of the scenery.  Jospeh and Kate chose one of their favorite parks in Tucson for their Engagement Session, here they are appearing to be stranded on a deserted island. :)

I was surprised and delighted by how lush the landscaping was.  The scenery is NOT typical of Arizona and was a real treat to shoot in.

They shared their party “trick” with me.  Kate knocks on Joseph’s cheek and he makes squirrel noises.  I’m sure friends of their’s who read this are aquainted with the “trick”, if not you should ask for a demonstration, it’s too funny. :)

Thanks Joseph and Kate for picking such a cool location for your Engagement Shoot and for being so accomodating with my ideas for your pics.  Looking very forward to shooting your wedding! :)

Great Job Maria… I so am going to miss being at K8′s wedding. She was the next thing to my adopted daughter because she was at our home so much for awhile. I’m so happy for her and Joseph. You do beautiful work.

You managed to capture the essence of Joseph and Kate on so many levels.

I like to call things in my life that happen unexpectedly and turn into something wonderful “happy accidents”. I’ve had many happy accidents, meeting my husband, forgetting an ingredient in a recipe and discovering it tasted better without the ingredient, etc... Photography was another “happy accident". A friend needed someone to help shoot auto races, my husband volunteered me and bought me my first Digital SLR camera. Five years have passed since those first nights standing on a wall and trying my best to capture cars traveling 120 mph heading directly at me. It didn’t take me long before I wanted to learn how to operate the camera without guidance. My journey began and still continues. read more
