I FINALLY “got” it :)

**********UPDATE**********

Random.org selected the winner, Congratulations REDCURLYQQS who was commenter #23.

I am also awarding a bonus prize to Jen Barnes, commenter # 19, Jen is going to receive a $5 Starbucks gift card for making me laugh out loud when I read her comment “…This is the fanny that Starbucks built”  I couldn’t let that go without some recongition. :)

Thanks everyone for playing along!

Next month we’ll be hosting another give away, we have a super prize lined up. :)

I’m not a coffee drinker; I love the smell of fresh brewed coffee but never acquired a taste for it.  When I saw someone walking around with a Starbucks cup bundled in its recyled corrugated sleeve I felt like the kid that got picked last for the dodgeball team.  I didn’t understand the mocha, latte, vente, tall, grande, soy, java, espresso language that “everyone” was speaking.  One day a couple of months ago my 13 yr old informed me they have more than coffee.

What?!?!

I know, a little late to make such a discovery but I was delighted!  I am happy to report I am not sitting on the bench anymore. :)  I have a favorite Starbucks beverage!

Ta da!!!!  Say hello to Strawberries & Creme Frappuccino Blended Creme and all of it’s yummy goodness:

Want to get in on the fun?  It’s simple just leave me a comment below and on July 23rd one lucky commenter will be selected.  Please make sure you include a reliable email address in the comment form so I can contact you if you win.  If the winner does not respond to the ”You’re the winner” email within 1 week another winner will be selected.  Don’t worry you will only be contacted if you win, this isn’t a trick to collect email addresses…just sharing some Starbucks love. :)    Leave your comment or just say “hi” below.

Ginger Dadd - July 18, 2009 - 5:14 pm

I am not a coffee drinker, but Richard is. I do like the frapps. Bananas and creme is my favorite. During the holidays I like Egg nog and pumpkin.

Pam D - July 17, 2009 - 8:32 pm

Confession time. I never go to the freestanding Starbucks; the only ones I see are in Target department stores. And Target’s coffee and fruit smoothies are a LOT less expensive and very good, so the only time I go to Starbucks is when I GET a giftcard! I do love their hot chocolate in the winter, as well as their Tazo hot tea!

Morganne - July 17, 2009 - 8:13 pm

I love SB’s venti Java Chip light and at this time of the year their “treat receipt” allows me to go back to get (for $2) the Bannana Chocolate Vivanno for supper. :)

Cristen Clark - July 17, 2009 - 5:20 am

Haha. That is too funny. Don’t worry, you are not the only one behind on stuff. I just found out what a Wii really is not to long ago (and I am 27). My brother was like, your young, shouldn’t you know things like that?! I am like, “Um yeah..I am in the real world now…not the college world…haha”.

sara - July 17, 2009 - 12:00 am

if you love that you MUST try the strawberry/banana vivanno OR vanilla bean frappe!!!

Jen Barnes - July 16, 2009 - 4:39 pm

I am not a “coffee drinker,” but I do like the fraps. Mmmm…how about a white chocolate frap skinny, no whip. Ooooh I know, the special chocolate mint frap with chocolate whipped cream. Or perhaps today I feel like a blended strawberry lemonade… then again there’s the shaken passion tea lemonade. This is the fanny that Starbuck’s built.

Lizette Montes - July 16, 2009 - 4:06 pm

OMG I love Starbucks strawberries and creme it’s the best!!!!!

Joanie - July 16, 2009 - 3:07 pm

OMG okay, I am not a Starbucks coffee lover, but I do LOVE their Chai Latte, you HAVE to try one, it tastes like Christmas. Oh and in the summer, their carmel frapps are to die for, or the brownie frapp…of their chicken wraps….oh i miss my Starbucks…..

Kate - July 16, 2009 - 9:17 am

Charity Rossman - July 16, 2009 - 8:46 am

Marcy - July 16, 2009 - 8:43 am

Hey Maria, My fav is non fat vanilla chai tea….hot in the winter, I even got my boyfriend hooked. LOL

Maria - July 16, 2009 - 7:03 am

Oh my, Maria! Too funny! I AM a coffee lover – my fav at Starbucks is a Grande Vanilla Latte w/ whipped cream. I go there so frequently that not only do they know my name but those of the kiddos too. :)

Kim - July 16, 2009 - 5:25 am

Randy & I had to put ourselves on a SB budget. We each have a card that we re-charge once a month. When the card is empty so is our SB cup. Maria, I loved the last time we had SB together. I would love to do it again. Blessings!!!!

Robert - July 16, 2009 - 1:08 am

Vente Caffe Latte with an extra shot, and about 2 1/2 seconds of sugar out of the shaker. Full cream, no foam. I am disqualified from this though….

angela - July 16, 2009 - 12:40 am

I’m not a coffee drinker either though I am enjoying the smell more and more. I will have to try this drink! I usually order a Vanilla Steamer in the winter time. Congrats on discovering Starbucks in a whole new light.

Deb Gunsch - July 16, 2009 - 12:22 am

There are certain Starbucks that bring back memories. I hooked Jesse pretty young on the caramel frapp…LOVE IT. When he and I would go to Tucson together (before the Vista had SB) that would be a special treat at the end of the day. But, my girls like the strawberries and creme and the other fruit ones. Jesse introduced me to the Chai Tea Frapp. Very good!

Brenda - July 15, 2009 - 11:04 pm

A coffee contest … couldn’t resist – especially Starbuck’s. Coffee Frappucino with a mountain of whipped cream = YUMMO!!

Daron - July 15, 2009 - 11:04 pm

I never acquired a taste for coffee either… in fact, I can’t drink anything from Starbucks because there’s so much coffee dust in the air I taste in on everything in the place. But Jen loves it — Send me the gift card so I can look like a hero to my lady :-P

Ashley - July 15, 2009 - 11:03 pm

Yay! Starbucks! I’m not really a coffee drinker so I usually get black tea with strawberry – Unsweetened. Sooo good! Once in a while I need a coffee fix and I order a white mocha.

Maria - July 15, 2009 - 11:02 pm

Summer: Venti iced green tea, unsweetened. Winter: Chai tea latte. But that’s about as far as I get. Not a coffee drinker- that much caffeine does bad things to me, but I love tea!

Rachel - July 15, 2009 - 10:38 pm

Hurray to finding a favorite Starbucks drink. I happen to come from a coffee loving family… and I tend to lean toward the “stronger the better” category of coffee drinkers. (sweet though…)

If you’re a fan of hot chocolate, they had some fun flavors which might be fun to try once the weather cools down. (Hazelnut and mint… I really enjoyed their Hazelnut Hot chocolate.)
{smiles} =)

I like to call things in my life that happen unexpectedly and turn into something wonderful “happy accidents”. I’ve had many happy accidents, meeting my husband, forgetting an ingredient in a recipe and discovering it tasted better without the ingredient, etc... Photography was another “happy accident". A friend needed someone to help shoot auto races, my husband volunteered me and bought me my first Digital SLR camera. Five years have passed since those first nights standing on a wall and trying my best to capture cars traveling 120 mph heading directly at me. It didn’t take me long before I wanted to learn how to operate the camera without guidance. My journey began and still continues. read more
