Darin & Mandy, Married : Arizona Wedding Photographer

Darin and Mandy’s wedding was just as stylish and special as their “vintage engagement session” .  Inspite of sprinkling rain and very cold wind everything came together perfectly for their big day.  The beadwork on Mandy’s dress was beautiful and fit with the Old Hollywood theme of the wedding.

One of the many reasons I love when couples have a First Look, time to interact

A little, okay a lot, of flare.

Initially we planned to use the golf course for formals but the wind kept us inside the club house.  I saw the light in the room and hoped the shot would come out just like this:

Darin is a golfer, I couldn’t resist asking them to pose for the next “just for fun shot”

Wow! Yummy pictures, Maria. The dress shots and the ceremony shots are huge standouts. Love the shot coming down the light strands. Don’t know who was up there…Kudos! (Muah, Muah)

I like to call things in my life that happen unexpectedly and turn into something wonderful “happy accidents”. I’ve had many happy accidents, meeting my husband, forgetting an ingredient in a recipe and discovering it tasted better without the ingredient, etc... Photography was another “happy accident". A friend needed someone to help shoot auto races, my husband volunteered me and bought me my first Digital SLR camera. Five years have passed since those first nights standing on a wall and trying my best to capture cars traveling 120 mph heading directly at me. It didn’t take me long before I wanted to learn how to operate the camera without guidance. My journey began and still continues. read more
