2010 Year In Review : Weddings

Closing the chapter on 2010 and looking back at the weddings I was blessed to capture.  I could have never imagined a few short years ago that I would be priveleged to share in so many special moments.  My love for shooting weddings only grew stronger in 2010.  I am excited for what 2011 holds and want to THANK each, now, Mr & Mrs for sharing their lives and love with me!  Many blessings to you all!  The slide show below contains the wedding images I captured in 2010 that for one reason or another jump out at me.  They either make me smile, tug at my heart or have some other quality that I appreciate.  I cannot close out 2010 without thanking my husband, Robert, for always encouraging me, being my best friend and stepping out of his sport’s shooting comfort zone to shoot a few weddings with me this year when his scedule allowed.  I love you more more Dr. Pepper!  My son, Brandon, also is learning to shoot and got some great images this year!  Thank you, Brandon!  Love.  Thank you also to my friend and fellow photog Lindsey Ross for asking me to second-shoot Kara & Andy’s wedding in Monetery, Calif.  That was my first destination wedding and I loved the experience.  Wishing you much success in 2011!

I like to call things in my life that happen unexpectedly and turn into something wonderful “happy accidents”. I’ve had many happy accidents, meeting my husband, forgetting an ingredient in a recipe and discovering it tasted better without the ingredient, etc... Photography was another “happy accident". A friend needed someone to help shoot auto races, my husband volunteered me and bought me my first Digital SLR camera. Five years have passed since those first nights standing on a wall and trying my best to capture cars traveling 120 mph heading directly at me. It didn’t take me long before I wanted to learn how to operate the camera without guidance. My journey began and still continues. read more
